Raider Ramblings

I would give my left nut for Edwin Mulitalo, a 350lb road grader at guard would make our o-line instantly better...

Coach Kiffin has been excellent so far... a complete overhaul of the coaching staff, a new offensive system and a new outlook has given the Raider world the enthusiasm and freshness that we have been missing...

Russell or Quinn? We should be thrilled who ever it is, both are such great prospects... but its soooooooo hard not to get enamoured with Russell's freakish ability... I'm a huge Golden Domer, my alma mater (high school in Canada related to the Holy Cross Fathers)... so Quinn would make me smile as well...

Don't count out Al Davis and Kiffin selecting Georgia Tech's Calvin Johnson... This Johnson fellow could be the perfect athlete...

Jerry Porter's radio interview was interesting... looks like he is ready for a leadership role... did I just say that? Wow, what a difference a couple of months makes... it's a little scary to be honest, but there is no questioning his talent and
ability...

Coachs Cable and Kiffin have decided that Gallery and Sims will battle to see who is best suited at LT... looks like another change for Robert... this time though, it seems it will work... I have not given up on Gallery, he is a mountain and a great worker, what a benefit it will be if/when Cable can get this young man fired up and playing up to his top level potential...

I don't think Randy Moss will be traded... but that could change should Mr. Davis get what he wants in return, a Round1 pick... even then I'm not sure, Moss still has a ton of talent and value, the trick is to get this "modern day" athlete "motivated", and if anyone can, Kiffen, with Porter on-side and Jordan in-line, just might be able to... BTW, yes Randy was tuned out for much of the year last year but he really sold out in his first year here, regardless of what the haters say...

Speaking of Jordan, good to see he manned up and renegotiated... this is extremely positive and a great move by the Raider org to force his hand to shit or get off the pot... I'm pretty low on Jordan though, what a disappointment he has been... tons of talk, says the right things but so far he has not shown the desire and heart to be among the best... I'll just wait to see what he produces before I get excited over this cat again...

Could you imagine what the media would be saying if we traded for Dre Bly and he said he did not want to play in Silver and Black?... Or if we traded for Plummer and Jake announced he would rather retire?...

I used to have a ton of respect for Bill's GM Marv Levy, but what's up with the $25 Mill for Langston? OMG that's insane... he most likely would have been riding the pine here in Oakland... he was the worst of our worst which was the worst... Ironically one of Langston's best performances as a Pro was in Buffalo... our Superbowl year in 2002, Lincoln Kennedy was downed by a Migrane headache in Buffalo and Langston came in of the bench and played extremely well...

VERY happy that we are staying low in the beginning of Free Agency... The $$$ thrown around so far are stupid... I fear the NFL owners might be shooting themselves in their collective feet with what I call irresponsible signings (SF-Nate Clements-$80 Mill)... Just because the Cap room is there and the Cap keeps growing, doesn't mean they have to spend
stupid...
Here is a great read on our Leader, The Great Al Davis...
Well, time to watch Pros vs Joes... see you soon...

excellent read. very apparent you see the organization in the same way I do. feel the same way about lamont, needs to get tougher. 235 lbs, be a man. what about little huggy? i would rather justin be the lead than lamont, he runs with violent intentions. point being, enjoyed the read. raider4life

Ithink that moss is in limbo...if we decide to keep him it will be becouse he needs to prove himself to all other teams that he still has it! if he get traded... we will get something good out of it! a qb like shoub, green, rogers or plumber along with a possible 1st or at least a secound round pik. knowbody is willing to pay the price for someone who gets disgruntled and quits when things dont go their way like moss is doing. the raiders dont have to pay anything on him til the season starts. why not play cat and mouse with him? hell either have to work his ass off this year to prove him self or we get some well needed player with extra early round picks! this is what you call a win win situation and the raiders are playing it smart for a change. congradulations! just win,win baby!

hey John...
I remember when you, kenny stabler,
freddy b. and other great raiders use to drop by the 19th hole in Alameda after the games.you guys were like one big family! do the teamates of today in oakland share intrest and hang together? it seems like now after the games evryone goes their own way.The point im trying to make is that you guys seem to know each other extremly well and you played football that way too. the intensity on the field was higher and their was great pride, nasty attitude and determination to "just win". the "swagger" you team created extended through the team with great unity becouse of this. like you use to say football is a state of mind and an attitude that doesn't seem to exist around these parts anymore. If the new team could look back and play hard for the pain the have endured for the last couple years of losses and turn that into the intensity on the field..... a good ass kicking of all the other teams that heckle us would seem to be best way to revive these "naw age" raiders to play with the crazyness and intensity of years pass! I have been a long time raider fan and grew up in alameda. To this day and to all days ahead win or lose I will always be the crazy fan in the stand screaming for not only for victory, but for the heart and soul of the raider nation that you legends created! thanks for the memories, and for you new raiders, JUST WIN and kick their asses while doin it!!!
